What is
Spinocerebellar Ataxia?

Spinocerebellar Ataxia (SCA) is a group of inherited neurological disorders that primarily affect the cerebellum — the part of the brain responsible for balance, coordination and precise movement.

SCA is progressive, and symptoms can affect walking, coordination, speech, swallowing, vision and other neurological functions. The symptoms and rate of progression can vary considerably from person to person.
